He is an uphill, powerful mover with a particularly impressive hind leg. He’s beginning to sit and push, and you can feel the engine developing underneath you. He’s a classic warmblood-type ride — not dull, but best when ridden leg into hand with a steady connection. He’s responsive, balanced, and continuing to gain strength and straightness.

Currently and actively hunting, and he has been excellent in every way:

• Quiet and mannerly in the field

• Excellent with hounds

• Stands politely at checks

• Jumps everything confidently

• Forward with plenty of engine, yet not strong or silly

• Naturally uphill and balanced

Most of his jump experience has been hunting and cross-country; we’ve only lightly started in the ring. On the ground, he is uncomplicated and consistent.

Theo would make a fantastic field or staff horse in any hunt, and he absolutely has the quality to cross over into dressage, eventing, or hunters.
